CENTRAL DIVISION NEWS DAILY

CHICAGO BULLS:  The Bulls have a promotion through which fans can get a free Big Mac if the Bulls score 100 points in a home win. The Bulls won 99-93 as Noah missed his 3 with 3.8 seconds left. "I talked to him about it, but I'm going to keep that private," Thibodeau said after Wednesday's practice.

Cleveland Cavaliers:   As for the Rookie of the Year chatter, it’s still incredibly early, but Byron Scott isn’t surprised. “We thought when we picked him that he would be a Rookie of the Year candidate,” Scott said. “We knew that he would have an opportunity to play and we felt he’d play well. He’s still going to have some ups and downs. It’s four games into the season. We’ve still got a long way to go. He’s on a little bit of a high right now, but he’s going to have some nights where he’s not playing well. We’ll see how he reacts to those, too.”

Detroit Pistons:    Thomas Robinson wasn't in the locker room by time most of the assembled media made it there. But Tyreke Evans said Robinson did apologize to this teammates for his flagrant foul 2 on Detroit's Jonas Jerebko that led to his ejection. “It looked like it was a pretty hard shot,” Evans said. “Thomas said he flopped a little bit but I don’t know.”

Indiana Pacers:   “It’s one of those situations,” David West said when asked if he wanted to remain in Indiana long term. “My main objective is to try to win [here]. I feel like this group has an opportunity to do that. Obviously with Danny [Granger] out it changes and makes things a little more difficult for us this year, but again we feel like with the group that we have and with Danny at full strength we can compete.”

Milwaukee Bucks:   In the final minute of the Wizards’ 101-91 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, though, Bradley Beal tried to block a shot by Monta Ellis and wound up with a flagrant-two foul that sparked a minor fracas.  NBA rules stipulate that a player charged with a flagrant-two foul can receive a fine not exceeding $50,000 and/or a suspension by the commissioner. It’s also possible the league can reduce the call to a flagrant-one, which doesn’t come with additional punishment, when it reviews the play. “It was just a foul. I went for the ball but I got a flagrant-two, so it is what it is,” Beal said. “I guess [Brandon Jennings was] defending his teammate, came up and pushed me but it’s just all a part of basketball. It’s physical but it is what it is. I just have to deal with it.”

CENTRAL DIVISION NEWS DAILY

CHICAGO BULLS:  Chicago Bulls point guard Kirk Hinrich suffered a right hip strain in the second quarter of Saturday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves and did not return to the game. Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau did not have an update on Hinrich’s status after the game.

Cleveland Cavaliers:   Byron Scott is hanging a “Help Wanted” sign after the Cavaliers’ 106-91 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday evening at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The beleaguered coach is one step short of running an ad in the classifieds or holding open tryouts to find somebody, anybody, to join Daniel Gibson on the team’s unproductive second unit.

Detroit Pistons:    The 2012/13 NBA Season is underway!  Five teams remain unbeaten (San Antonio Spurs, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Orlando Magic and Milwaukee Bucks).  Four teams have yet to win (Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings, Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons).  Is it too soon to take records seriously? ”

Indiana Pacers:  With all the pressure on Paul George to succeed, it’s has proven challenging to just kick back and be easy about things. George knows that the best players in the league take on those expectations, and that’s exactly what he is trying to do.  “Of course I want that pressure,” he said. “A lot of guys my age, I don’t t think they would approach the game the way that I would. At the end of the day I do want to be an All-Star. I do want to be the best player I can be. But most of all, I just want to win. Whether that’s scoring 15 points and 10-12 rebounds or 20-plus points a night, at the end of the day, with the team that I am surrounded by, I just want to win.”

Milwaukee Bucks:   Brandon Jennings made headlines recently with his comments surrounding his failure to reach an agreement with the Milwaukee Bucks on a contract extension, but before we get too carried away let’s make sure things are in perspective.  “Now I guess I’m kind of auditioning for other teams,” Jennings said of the situation.  There’s no denying that’s true, but don’t take it to mean that Jennings is not on the Bucks’ long-term plans.

CHICAGO BULLS:  Noah broke out his playful quote on Thibodeau: "Like I’ve said for a long time, it’s a dictatorship out here." Noah was responding to questions about Thibodeau riding his starters down the stretch of Saturday's victory over the Bucks.

Cleveland Cavaliers:   Kyrie Irving immediately knew something was seriously wrong. The Cavaliers point guard was trying to swipe the ball away from Darren Collison as the Dallas guard went up for a shot. Instead of hitting the ball, Irving hit his left index finger on Collison's shoe. "I just knew it wasn't a jammed finger," Irving said on Tuesday in explaining how he suffered a fractured left index finger that will keep him out four weeks. "I've jammed almost every finger on my hand, so I just knew when it started turning black and blue . . . I just thought it was a bad sprain, but it just turned out to be broken."

Detroit Pistons:    Tayshaun Prince openly wondered afterward why Frank didn’t respond quicker with substitutions when it was obvious Prince and the rest of the starting five didn’t have it. "If I was coach, I would have made the decision sooner than what he did," Prince said in the Amway Center visitors’ locker room. Know what I mean?

Indiana Pacers:  Paul George had a monster night on Wednesday, pouring in 37 points and helping his team to a much-needed overtime victory over the Hornets. The majority of those points came from three-point distance, as George hit 9-of-13 from long range to just bury New Orleans in buckets.

Milwaukee Bucks:   The Bucks don’t comment on trade speculation but the scuttlebutt around the league is the team is trying to move the 31-year-old Gooden, who is being paid $6.68 million for this season and the next two seasons as well.

CENTRAL DIVISION NEWS DAILY

CHICAGO BULLS:  Joakim Noah has expressed interest in working out with Hakeem Olajuwon for few years. What's expected when does this summer: “Hakeem can absolutely help him,’’ said Frank Rutherford, who coordinates workouts for Olajuwon and said Noah will work out with Olajuwon this summer in Houston. “He can increase his scoring production and his defense, without a question.’’

Cleveland Cavaliers:  League sources tell CBSSports.com that Golden State has offered the likes of Andrew Bogut, Andris Biedrins and Richard Jefferson to the Hawks, Cavaliers and Jazz. The Warriors would have to unload two of the three in order to clear enough space to land Howard in a straight free-agent signing, and Atlanta, Cleveland and Utah essentially are the only teams with that kind of room. It's important to note that the Warriors, according to multiple league sources familiar with the discussions, have indicated that their attempts to clear space are only a pre-emptive strike in the event Howard agrees to leave the Lakers for the Bay Area. Though the Warriors came out of their pitch meeting with Howard and his representatives encouraged by how their message was received, Howard's camp has not delivered any indications about what his decision might be.

Detroit Pistons:   Hakeem Olajuwon expects to work out this summer in Houston with Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons.

Indiana Pacers:  The Indiana Pacers have reached agreement on a two-year, $6.1 million offer sheet with New York Knicks free-agent forward Chris Copeland, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Copeland is a restricted free agent, but the Knicks are unable to match the offer sheet.

Milwaukee Bucks:  Free agent guard O.J. Mayo has agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Mayo, 25, will be a replacement for the loss of guard J.J. Redick and the expected departure of Monta Ellis. The Bucks agreed to send Redick to the Los Angeles Clippers in a sign-and-trade deal.

CHICAGO BULLS:  Sources said the Bulls and Cavaliers also inquired about Elton Brand early in free agency. “He’s still very effective in the low post,’’ Panzanaro said. “He can score down there. I don’t think they need him to be a jump-shooter. They need him to rebound.’’

Cleveland Cavaliers:  While he considers a two-year offer from Cleveland, Andrew Bynum is meeting with Hawks officials in Atlanta on Tuesday and expects to make a decision later in the day, league sources told CBSSports.com. "There should be a deal today," said a person familiar with the negotiations. Bynum, 25, missed the entire 2012-13 season with knee injuries after he was traded to Philadelphia as part of the four-team deal that sent Dwight Howard from the Magic to the Lakers. With Howard choosing to sign with the Houston Rockets and Andre Iguodala going to Golden State, Bynum will become the third key participant in the Howard trade to change teams in less than 12 months.

Detroit Pistons:   Gigi Datome announced on Facebook that he has signed a contract with the Detroit Pistons. Datome comes from Virtus Roma

Indiana Pacers:  Larry Bird: “I feel better. I had some injuries and mentally I felt better. It was nine-straight years. Donnie felt like he wanted to come back and I didn’t know if I was going to come back this year. They continued to call, leave messages, I spoke to the owner and Donnie [Walsh] numerous times and if you’re going to do it better do it now because it’s not going to get any easier down the road.

Milwaukee Bucks:  Marc Stein: As state for days, Bucks want Jeff Teague. That's undeniable. Still TBD: Are Hawks ready to take back Jennings OR Monta in sign-and-trade?

CENTRAL DIVISION NEWS DAILY

CHICAGO BULLS:  The Chicago Bulls announced today the signing of 2013 NBA draft picks Tony Snell (20th overall) and Erik Murphy (49th overall). Per team policy, terms of the contracts were not disclosed. Snell, a 6-7, 200-pound guard out of the University of New Mexico, joins the Bulls after wrapping up a three-year collegiate career with the Lobos. A native of Riverside, Calif., Snell appeared in 104 games (77 starts) where he averaged 9.2 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 2.0 apg and 0.50 spg in 24.8 mpg. He also shot .421 from the field, .380 from behind the arc and .821 from the line.

Cleveland Cavaliers:  New coach Mike Brown played a huge role in Bynum’s return, according to a second league source. Bynum averaged career-best numbers of 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds while playing under Brown for the Los Angeles Lakers two years ago.

Detroit Pistons:   Nearly a decade after resurrecting the franchise and leading it to an NBA championship, Chauncey Billups has reached agreement on a two-year contract to return to the Detroit Pistons, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The deal will be worth $5 million-plus for Billups, league sources said.

Indiana Pacers:  The Indiana Pacers announced Wednesday they have re-signed veteran free agent and two-time NBA All-Star David West to a contract.

Milwaukee Bucks:  Bucks first-round draft choice Giannis Antetokounmpo led Greece to its second straight victory in the Under-20 European Championship on Thursday in Tallinn, Estonia. The 6-foot-9 forward finished with a team-high 20 points as Greece defeated Germany, 65-56, in Group A competition. Greece will play Georgia on Friday. Antetokounmpo helped seal the victory by scoring four points in the final 11 seconds, all coming at the free throw line. He sank two foul shots for a 63-56 lead, then blocked a shot and grabbed a defensive rebound.

CENTRAL DIVISION NEWS DAILY

CHICAGO BULLS:  The Bulls, Clippers, Grizzlies and Bobcats have all showed interest in the 37-year-old free agent Antawn Jamison, who believes he has a couple more years left of competing at a high level. "I think last year, getting the opportunity to play for the Lakers and their organization, I really jumped into it," Jamison said. "Didn't really view my options, but this year I really want to make sure I'm going to the right situation, where I have a good rapport with the coaching staff and also with management I'm able to communicate and get an understanding of what they want from me.

Cleveland Cavaliers:  What's one G-rated or PG-rated story about an athlete that you've heard but haven't had an opportunity to share? Shawn Kemp was late for a flight back in his Cleveland days, as he often was. He was beginning to run out of excuses. The one he gave the Cavs this time was, "My dog fell asleep in front of my car and I had to wait until he woke up." No ****. Poor Randy Wittman was the coach and he just took it. That's when we knew Randy was in big trouble. He was a rookie coach and Kemp worked him over. It actually said a lot about a bunch of things that were going on with the team at the time. Kemp was losing control of his life and Randy was overwhelmed. The best thing Jim Paxson did was find a way to hoist Kemp on Portland, which set it up for the Cavs to eventually get LeBron.

Detroit Pistons:   Brandon Jennings will be sign-and-traded and will ink a three-year, $25 million U.S. contract. The Compton, Cal. native was in town at the behest of good friend and fellow L.A. NBAer Amir Johnson, of the Raptors for the OVO Bounce Tournament at Ryerson's Kerr Hall. Jennings declined to say much, saying he wants to "stay under the radar for now," but did admit "I'm happy" about the trade.

Indiana Pacers:  Despite having an outstanding season, there’s been a lot of speculation you may go back to coming off the bench this season, especially if Danny Granger is healthy and ready. Would you be OK with that? Lance Stephenson: I’m just coming in to play hard. Whatever coach (Frank Vogel) decides to do, I think it’s a great decision. Me coming off the bench, Danny coming off the bench, either way, we’re deep. Whatever helps the team, that’s what I want to do.

Milwaukee Bucks:  The drawn-out saga of restricted free agent guard Brandon Jennings ended Tuesday, as the Milwaukee Bucks agreed to a sign-and-trade deal with the Detroit Pistons to send Jennings there in exchange for guard Brandon Knight and forwards Khris Middleton and Slava Kravtsov.
